My entire life, I’ve played on small sports teams and found deep meaning from them. I loved the way each of my teammates had their role, how they were as reliant on me as I was on them, and how, no matter the outcome, we all came together as a team to work towards getting better the next day.
So working for a company with 60,000 employees in New York was a bit of a shock. While I learned a lot, I missed the feeling of being a part of the core pulse of an organization. I wanted to rediscover what it meant to be a part of a small team and I wanted to do this as a part of something that I believed in.
That’s what led me to Drive Capital.
In the process, I get to help other small teams grow into big teams and have a profound impact on the world around us. Speaking with everyone at Drive and seeing the firmness of their conviction was contagious. Just like everyone else here, I too believe more market-defining technology companies will be built outside of Silicon Valley in the next 10 years than ever have been before. The beauty of this is that it is no longer just a belief, it’s backed by results.
At Drive, I have the privilege of working with a small group marching towards making big change. In the process, I get to help other small teams here in the Midwest grow into big teams and have a profound impact on the world around us. It doesn’t get more rewarding than that.
So, who would've thought I’d end up in Columbus? Definitely not me, that’s for sure. But, here I am. And I couldn’t be happier.
